Construction: The Ribbon Bonnet is worked flat, knitting bottom up and shaping the crown with decreases. The ribbed edges of the bonnet are worked from picked up stitches that are knit in a 2x2 rib with an I-cord bind off. The bottom rib incorporates eyelets which are used to weave in the i-cord ribbon. The ribbon motif is added at the end using a duplicate stitch.

Measurements: Height = 29cm [11.5 inches], Width = 20cm [8 inches] ( measured flat )
Gauge: 20 sts x 28 rows = 10x10 cm [ 4 x4 inches] using 4mm needles.
Needles: 4mm [US6] circular needles / 40cm [16 inches] and 3.5 mm [US4] circular needles / 40cm [16 inches]. (This pattern does not require knitting in the round so straight needles can also be used. The circular needles are helpful in making the i-cord ribbon. If you don’t have circular needles you may also use DPNS.)
